Agustin Hernandez is a formidable foe in any event. The Dallas resident won the 1998 Cowtown Marathon among many of his overall victories. One of his victories in 2006 came at the Victory Over Violence 5K in Fort Worth when he ran a 15:57.40. |
Cora Turner of Alvarado said after winning the women's Victory Over Violence 5K (19:21.95) that she had been running seriously for about six years. In that time, she has won her share of titles, including the Mayfest 10K (41:31.7) and Zoo Run Run 5K (19:33) in '06. |

William Moore has been one of the top runners in the DFW area for several years. He has won the White Rock Marathon, four The Half titles and qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials. The pediatrician has lost a few steps now that he's in his early 40s, but often collects masters titles as he did at the Xsightment 5K with a 16:25 despite just coming back from a calf injury. |
You don't have to be one of the fastest runners in the area to be on these pages. Leighton ''Pops'' Railsback can, however, contend in the 70-older age group. Railsback has been a familiar face at numerous races and was one of the mainstays at the now-defunct Mid-Cities Running Club. One of his most recent age-group victories was at the Secret Service 5K when he ran a 26:08. |
